Recent Progress for Computer Science, Fuzzy
Mathematics and Economics
General
Topology has become one of the fundamental parts of
mathematics. Nowadays, as a consequence of an intensive research
activity, this mathematical branch has been shown to be very useful for
modeling several problems which arise in some branches of applied
sciences as Economics, Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science.
Due to this increasing interaction between applied and topological
problems, we have promoted the creation of an annual or biannual
workshop to encourage the collaboration between different national and
international research groups in the area of General Topology and its
Applications. The first edition of this event wasnamed Workshop in
Applied
Topology (WiAT) and it was organized by the Universidad de las Islas Baleares in Palma de Mallorca (Spain) in 11-12 June 2009.
This second edition, which will be held in Gandia (Spain),
16-18 June 2010, will join several international experts in General
Topology and its Applications. In particular, some researchers of
reputed prestige will attend to WiAT, and they will give lectures about
the connections between General Topology, Computer Science, Fuzzy
Mathematics and Economics. This is the reason to repeat the subtitle of the
first edition for WiAT’10: “Recent progress for Computer Science, Fuzzy
Mathematics and Economics”.
The refereed proceedings of the conference will be published
in a book with ISBN under the name: "Applied Topology: Recent progress
for Computer Science, Fuzzy Mathematics and Economics. Proceedings of
WiAT'10".
We hope that the participants establish fruitful scientific relations
during the Workshop, while they also enjoy the beauty, the culture and
the hospitality of Gandia.
